my new 14" MacBook pro has a file vault issue and needs to be erased and restored from backup (according to apple care) after erasing my airport express time capsule (2TB) so as to have enough room it backed up as a sparsebundle .. Apple care told me to erase it and after messing about told me to now backup again. guess what its a sparse bundle file. question can I restore from this backup?
sparsebundle is a FILE, inside which an Entire Disk is simulated. This is typically the kind of image you get with a remote backup drive.
That may be a perfectly adequate Time machine backup. See if it will appear as a source to restore from backup.
