Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities Ezralynn,

We see that you have a question about messages, and we'd be happy to help.

You asked what "indexing messages" means. This is a background process that happens after a device has been restored or data is migrated from an old device to a new device.

Have you recently restored your device or gotten a new device and transferred the data from the old device to the new device? If so, this would be expected behavior. Once the data has finished indexing to the device, then you will no longer see that message. The best thing to do would be to connect it to the charger, and make sure that you are connected to a good Wi-Fi network until it is complete. Depending on how much data you have could determine how long it takes for this process to finish.

If you try leaving the device connected to the power source and Wi-Fi and the issue remains, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support.
