How to Remove Approval for an App on my child's account

I approved an age-appropriate game for my son, but noticed that it contained "advertisements" for other apps and games - some of which I feel are inappropriate. I also don't like the fact that my child is watching ads. How do I remove the approval for the app, so that my son can't download the app again if I delete it ?

This is a MAJOR feature shortcoming. With all the focus of child safety and screen time I would think this would be an important addition.

Hey qvj,

It appears you're wondering if there is a way to revoke an app from being able to be downloaded, after it was already approved. You won't be able to revoke being able to install one app that has already been allowed. You could prevent your child from being able to install apps, after deleting that app, and see if that may help. The information below, from the following article, shows how: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

"Prevent iTunes & App Store purchases

You can also prevent your child from being able to install or delete apps, make in-app purchases, and more. To prevent iTunes & App Store purchases or downloads:

  1. Go to Settings and tap Screen Time.
  2. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions. If asked, enter your passcode.
  3. Tap iTunes & App Store Purchases.
  4. Choose a setting and set to Don't Allow.

You can also change your password settings for additional purchases from the iTunes & App Store or Book Store. Follow steps 1-3, then choose Always Require or Don't Require."

Best wishes.
