Google Drive and .DS_Store message

I seem to be unable to stop .DS_Store and ._ files from being created when copying files and folders to Google Drive. How do I stop this? My files are empty or partially empty and I do not have my files.

Unfortunately you cannot avoid them as long as you use Finder. Finder requires both files for correct management of folder contents and meta data of the files in the folder when such data is not supported by the file system being used.

The only way to avoid that is to use Terminal and copy them through a terminal command and not Finder.
