Hi there,
is there a plugin or secret function that automatically selects the clip in the timeline that's currently playing? How is that not the standard in FCP X?
It takes way more time to manually select each clip I want to grade.

When playing the clip you want to select in the timeline, type the "C" key to select it.

Oh geez, all I had to do is deselect the clip. For some reason I was under the impression I always had to select the clip in order to apply color corrections. Which is especially annoying when you move on to the next clip and grades don't apply to what's seen in the viewer because the previous one is still selected.

It does. The black dot indicates the targeted clip underneath the playhead.
When you move the playhead to another clip, it will be the targeted clip, and the color correction tools in the inspector will change to that clip.
It’s just there. Perhaps you can post a screenshot of what’s you’re doing and what you’re seeing where.
