I,can’t get my mini to sleep. M1 running Monterey.
I’ve googled, and done all the usual, energy,savings, nvram reset, and everything I could find.
‘’is there a known issue with the new m1 stuff? Issues with Monterey? (It wouldn’t sleep with Big Sur either
The LED stays on solid in sleep mode.

During sleep
When your Mac sleeps, the SIL pulsates on and off slowly. On Mac mini models introduced in 2018 or later, the SIL stays on when the computer is in sleep. You can customize your Mac's sleep behavior in the Energy Saver or Battery pane of System Preferences.
If the Mac Mini is re-waking the display, then I would suspect that you are touching the mouse or trackpad and re-waking it.

Well if the light stays on during sleep, then my mini did in fact enter sleep. But it still wakes up after 2-3 seconds.
I am not touching the keyboard or monitor. I’m suspecting the fact I’m using an hdmi to vga adaptor may be the issue
Disable Sleep, it’s unnecessary on later Macs, all pain, no gain. Shut for long absences i.e. > 2 hours. To disable, check “Prevent…” in Energy Preferences and uncheck everything else. You can leave the display off time as is, unrelated to Sleep.
Check "Prevent your Mac from automatically sleeping......"
Uncheck "Wake for network access" and "Enable Power Nap"
Does the display/displays sleep?
Keep in mind that the LED light on the front stays on solid even in sleep mode.
Also note that computer sleep is not really necessary and the M1 uses very little power in stand-by with the display/displays asleep.
The,display goes dark but then the mini comes back to life. So when I can get it to sleep, the white led will not “dim and shine” like the older macs?
