the Netflix app no longer appears on my iphone. I had used it less than 24 hours before being unable to find it. If I go to the app store, I can update the app and sometimes even open it but can’t see any way to get it back to where it was. The app store seems to think i have it on my phone but I cannot see it. Tried a spotlight search and it came up empty handed .

From your home screen, swipe right until you get to the App Library. Look for it in there and when you find it, hold your finger on it and drag it back to your home screen.
