Sidecar and Apple TV on Monterey

I have noticed that when using sidecar wired or wireless works perfectly fine except when using the apple tv app. If sidecar is active and you fire up apple tv and select something to watch all you get is sound and a black screen.


I have tried force quitting sidecar and trying again but still the same issue. Only way to get video to work is to disable sidecar.


I should also note the iPad that I am using for sidecar is the 12.9" iPad pro second generation.

Yes, this is by design to prevent piracy via screen recording on the iPad.


When Sidecar is active you cannot view protected content form the TV App, and other apps like Netflix either on the iPad or on the main Mac screen.
