Find my iPhone (play sound not working) only vibrates

Just bought my son an iPhone 8. The importance of Find My with a kids phone is really high. I am able to find his phone, but when I hit the “Play Sound” button... His phone only vibrates.

I have tried resetting his phone.
I checked, and there are no updates available for the phone software.
I have had iPhones since the very first one... So I am accustomed to the features, and all of my other devices play a loud audible tone.

Thanks for connecting with us here in Apple Support Communities. As we understand it, your son's iPhone will only vibrate when you press Play Sound. Resetting the iPhone and checking for updates was a great step to take. Have you also checked that the Silent Switch isn't enabled on the device?
