running an old game on macbook pro

I have the original disc for No One Lives Forever.

would like to play it on my macbook pro running big sur.


problem is the system isn't even seeing the disc. when inserted into the disc drive it spins for a while then stops and no icon appears either on the desktop or in finder.


I also have the discs for No One Lives Forever 2 and the system sees that one. not sure why it doesn't see the first one.


any assistance would be appreciated.

You cannot play a PPC game from 2000 on any recent Intel Mac. AFAIK, OSX 10.6 was the last OS for an Intel Mac which provided access to running PPC apps using the original Rosetta software.


Also keep in mind that even many old macOS Intel games won't run on Big Sur because many of those old games will be 32 bit and Big Sur does not run 32 bit apps.
