Ha, it only seems that way, LOL. No, starting with Big Sur, the OS and its system files (as well as any app that is installed as part of the OS install) you no longer have access to it - it is read only. So, the only apps I would be able to get rid of are apps I have installed.
And, I find all of those notifications intrusive, so there are literally none allowed on any of my Macs. Have to go through all of them after an update or upgrade since Apple has decided that I want it and turns things on be default.

Maybe it sounds like you should just disable notifications for News. That's the only way it could ever be considered aggressive or intrusive. Go to News > File > Manage notifications and email...
If you are trying to delete it off your MBP, you won't be able to since it is installed as part of the OS and those cannot be removed. However, I have never used it; it has never bothered me - it just sits in the Applications folder.
Did you by chance subscribe to it? Also check System Preferences > Notifications and make sure that there is nothing enabled - uncheck it all.
On each device, tap & hold the News app icon, then from the menu that appears, tap Remove App.
Babowa, you seem very knowledgeable.
Are there any apps that you would delete from your Mac?
Apple also insists -ZSH and I’m just changing it back to -BASH.
What’s interesting is that Bash inherits new commands that take advantage of the newly added macOS features. 🙄
But, I never remove Apple installed apps (iMovie is unnecessary when I have Final Cut).
Actually I have a 2017 iMac running High Sierra and it can be booted with my external Sierra clone. With those, I am still running an old (and the best version ever made in my unqualified opinion) of iMovie HD. Nowadays, I don't do that much with that any more, but when I do, I still can. Also have Final Cut Express on there.
