The Universal Serial Bus (USB) had gone through many upgrades over the years.
All Macs sold today support USB Type C.
A genuine Apple USB-C to USB Adapter:

Then (even though Apple still sells the Super Drive), they made it obsolete! 🙄
The only suggestion that I can offer at this time is to take your iPhone, Cable & Mac to an Apple retail store for a certified Apple genius to see what they can do.
I’m out of ideas at the moment.
You need to plug it directly into the USB port on your Mac.
What is your question?
My superdrive won't work on the USB hub. The message says the USB needs power.
The problem is the MacBook Pro does not have a USB port.
I have the the US adopter that work for everything accept the superdrive.
