The crack appeared spontaneously and was send to apple for repair but the amount quoted was equivalent to a new laptop, it was returned unrepaired but the crack had extended, apple is refusing to take responsibility for the significant worsening of crack. do I have any options?

More than one crack is not covered by Apple Limited Warranty, so from the first moment that was an Out of Warranty repair and is the same if it is like picture 1 or picture 2.

I wonder if AppleCare would have covered it.
Thoughts?
Almost sure that AppleCare+ would have covered the Display replacement (not for free, $99 for screen damage)
