Does Apple limit the number of data requests that a user can send to its servers?

Hi, I am running some music db queries using the Apple search utility (https://itunes.apple.com/search/), but am finding strange that the server is giving me no results after a certain number of requests, which are automated, have been tried.

Does Apple limit the number of requests and after a while it simply ignores the oncoming requests? Reason why I am suspecting it is cause the first few requests usually get hits but after a while everything is no result. :(

Please advise, thank you so much.

Have you looked at the documentation for this service? It says,

The Search API is limited to approximately 20 calls per minute (subject to change). If you require heavier usage, we suggest you consider using our Enterprise Partner Feed (EPF). If you wish to access content on our EPF, please review iTunes Affliate Resources for more information.

Do not assume that is any kind of hard limit. Apple says both "approximately" and "subject to change" so it seems reasonable that there is additional logic in place to prevent abuse. Also, the entire thing is qualified by "Terms and conditions apply". If Apple notices your usage and decides that they think you are not abiding by those terms and conditions, they can cut you off.
