Hi,
I am having an on-going issue with my HomePod mini stereo pair having a serious audio lag with any of my Apple devices, my main intended use is to a use it as speakers for watching content when needed.
All troubleshoots have failed. Please fix.
The lag is part of AirPlay. The TV app should compensate, YouTube on the web, not so much. For downloaded media try VLC which has a customizable delay.

One option you might try is restarting each of your devices, including your router. Starting with the router is usually the best option, then the other devices, and then the HomePods.
