Deleted safari browser history

I have managed to loose my browsing history and want to know if I can recover it

iPhone 12, iOS 14

On you post, "iPhone 12, iOS 14" is noted. However, this section of the community is "Mac OS & System Software". Before suggestions start flying, that may not be applicable, are you experiencing this Safari issue on a Mac, or on an iPhone?


Also, "I was looking at one of them and closed it" is a bit vague. Can you provide more detail around this?


When talking about browser history, it suggests viewing a list (long or short) of previously visited websites.


1) Exactly how were you "looking at one of them", given that it is a list? Did you click on an item in the list, and navigate to the website, in order to be looking at one of them? Or, do you mean just looking at one of them on the list itself?


2) When you "closed it", exactly what is it? The browser history list? Or, the "one of them" website you went to?


For the community to understand what might have gone wrong, and help you out, there needs to be a high degree of clarity in the details of exactly what you were doing when things went awry.
