Hello Apple, After a few frustrating weeks I am I guess happy to see I am not the only one with this issue, but I have 2 Apple TV's that I was using for Air Play that are no useless..... Will you be fixing this issue, or replacing my devices, as they were purchased specifically for air play which is now now at all working. Please advise ASAP
Please check Settings﹥General﹥About to see if it says Activation Failed. If so, that will need to be solved first, and then AirPlay is expected to return as well.
Try these steps: If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services - Apple Support
If the issue persists, contact Apple Support.
You’ll find a few other threads on this subforum about Activation Failed, including what some of those users did to help themselves.
However if they are not going to replace the device …
Apple TV (3rd generation) is 9.7 years old, and has been discontinued for more than 5 years, and would now be out of official technical support. I don’t think it will be serviced, nor replaced as service. I expect Store staff to show you newer models that you can buy.
Yes that is the exact problem says activation failed. Spent 45 minutes on with Apple they could not get it resolved and suggested I take to apple store. However if they are not going to replace the device that seems like a waste of time as this appears to be a known apple issue
