Family Sharing not working

I've followed the family sharing troubleshooting listed here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201454 for both my iMac and Macbook and Apple TV. I still can not view the content purchased by the Family Share organizer.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! We understand that you're not seeing the purchases that have been shared by the Organizer of your Family Sharing account, and we'd be delighted to offer some suggestions that may help.


The article that you referenced is a great resource for troubleshooting purchase sharing. If you've gone through and checked your settings, you might ask the Organizer to check their settings. On a device where they are logged into the Apple ID that they use with Family Sharing, have them confirm that they have "Share Purchases with Family" enabled on their end.


If you're still not able to see the purchase(s), let us know more about the exact content.


  • Is it a single purchase or all purchases? If it's a single purchase, was it an app, book, song, etc.?
  • On which type of device was it originally purchased? (e.g. iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, etc.)
  • Are other members of the Family Sharing group able to access the content?
  • Does anyone in the family share an Apple ID?
