Any negative aspects to installing Rosetta 2

I have a 2021 MacBook Pro with Apple silicon. Of all the applications I have, ONLY the Dropbox app requires Rosetta 2. Dropbox says they will have a Universal app out in "about" 6 months. I am unable to synchronize my Dropbox data on my new 2021 MacBook Pro. When I try to run the Dropbox app in attempt to repair this, I'm advised that it would require Rosetta 2 order to work.

My research indicates that Rosetta 2 cannot be removed once installed. I don't know if that is a negative thing or not. Perhaps Rosetta is only involved when needed, and otherwise does not interfere. Or perhaps it "gums up" the works all the time.

Any thoughts?

When you first use an app that requires Rosetta, Rosetta is download and installed. When you use that app and other apps that require Rosetta it is launched automatically when you launch the app.

One does not download Rosetta manually.
