Recently tried the ‘text to speech’ option whikst reading. Have decided I don’t want it anymore and want rid of the arrow icon from my screen as fed up of moving it out the way all the time. I’ve disabled the function in settings>accessibility but the arrow ivon remains?

Would anyone be able to advise me how to get it to disappear please?

Thank you SO much! Not only am I cringing at my above spelling mistakes, also how stupid I am to not think of the turn off and on again method 😄. This has solved my problem, the button has now vanished from my screen. Thank you for your advice. It’s much appreciated x

Hello emma-jane224,

It seems like the Speak button is still appearing after turning off the Speech Selection setting, is that correct? We'd like to help.

"Even if VoiceOver is turned off, you can have iPhone speak selected text or the entire screen. iPhone can also provide feedback and speak text corrections and suggestions as you type."

Just to confirm, did you use the steps in the "Change the speech settings" part of the following page to turn off that feature? Hear iPhone speak the screen, selected text, and typing feedback

Do you experience the same behavior after restarting your device? Restart your iPhone

Thanks!
