Import mp3 files without itunes

I have an iPad Pro that has a large Christmas music collection. I don’t sync music with my MacBook because that file doesn’t have the Christmas music and is smaller. The message I get when syncing is it will delete the files on the iPad and download the smaller MacBook file.

How do I transfer new mp3 files to the iPad from CDs we purchase?

iPad Pro, iPadOS 15

jamesfromheadland,

Thanks for the clarification. It sounds like your iPad may have synced to another Music/iTunes library before. As you'll see in the following support article, your iPad can only sync with one library at a time: Use iTunes to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer. If you choose to sync your iPad to the MacBook in question all of the music on your iPad would be erased and replaced with the music currently on that MacBook.

If you still have access to the computer you synced your iPad to previously, we recommend importing your CDs to that computer and then syncing your iPad to it.

Cheers.

Thanks Corrie but this is not the problem. To explain better, I have imported a cd to my Mac without issues. I’m trying to transfer only that cd to one of my iPads. I can send it through airdrop but I can’t get it into iTunes music

this iPad has a large number of Christmas songs that are not on my Mac so if I try to sync I get the message that all songs on the iPad will be deleted and the songs on the iPad will be lost
