I have a watch that belonged to my late cousin. We would like to restore it so that someone could use it. We do not have passcode or the phone it was paired to. Is there a way to Factory reset? I believe it is a Series 1 or 2 as it says 7000 series Aluminum. I have tried - hold Side button then crown but never get the reset option. Is there another method?
You will need to contact Apple Support and provide as much documentation as you can to gain access to the watch. Documents you'll need can and often do include the original purchase receipt (if possible), a death certificate and something from the estate extending ownership rights to you.

I have submitted death certificate and testamentary and and my ownership was approved several weeks ago by Apple but still waiting for access.
