Can’t retrieve Word document

I clicked “save” several times for hours, then the MacBook died due to low battery.

I wasn’t worried at first because I knew that by saving it so many times I would retrieve it without issues, but the only version I see is the one that existed hours ago before I started editing it.

Bonus info: right after the MacBook started back on there was a little tab on top of the document saying something like “this account can’t edit this document” (this was just a bug and not true, since I can now edit it and the account is the same). Furthermore, the document was updated to its latest version when the MacBook first turned back on, so I assume that the latest version of the document is somewhere on my HDD. It was only AFTER I shut off the MacBook once more that all changes to the documents disappeared. Also, the MacBook date was set to Jan. 1st for a couple minutes for no reason.

How do I recover the edited document (the version I had right before my computer died)?

P.S.: It’s not in “Recovered Files” in the trash.
