Iphone 6 Apple ID Verification failed

I just took over my wife's iphone 6. I reset it to factory settings, and then used my dying ipod touch backup file in itunes to transfer my data over. Everything seems to be going fine, but now it is CONSTANTLY asking me to enter my apple id. I have entered that thing OVER and OVER again, and even though I have the correct password (heck I even tried changing it just to make sure) it keeps saying "Verification Failed" and unknown error has occurred." What do I do to MAKE IT STOP!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. From your post, it seems there's an issue with the verification failing when attempting to sign in with a correct password. We'll do what we can to help.

If you are indeed using the correct password, this means there's an issue communicating with the server itself. Check the network connection on the iPhone, especially if you transferred Wi-Fi information from your iPod touch backup: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

Also, verify the time displayed on the iPhone or check the time zone from settings: Change the date and time on iPhone
