I am trying to setup an appleid on my new iphone 7. I have recreated an appleid on icloud and am trying to use it on the iphone. when i put it in the setup of appleid on settings i get the message it is already in use. Don't know what to do.

You had mentioned that you had "recreated" an Apple ID. Did you use your old Apple ID as a rescue email when creating your new Apple ID? Or vice versa, did you have your new email address linked to your old Apple ID? You can confirm this by going to the Apple ID website here: Manage your Apple ID
Sign in with your old Apple ID and review your account details. You want to check if the new email you're trying to use as an Apple ID is listed or linked. If so, remove it and check to see if that helps.
