Assigning Midi Foot Controller Issues

Hello.

I have a midi Arturia Keyboard and a FCB1010 both hooked up to MainStage.

I want to map some of my FCB foot Pedal switches to control my MainStage Footpedal switches.

Here is my issue. I am getting a midi signal from my FCB. I can see it the signal change in the midi box at the top of MS. However when I try to map it to a foot pedal switch to MS it will not map. HOWEVER, the FCB has basically 10 foot pedals switches and 2 expression pedals... and for whatever reason I can map the expression pedals to the footswitch in MS.

I can also map any of the keys from my Arturia Keyboard to control the footswitch in MS.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? It seems like there would be a simple click of a button somewhere. I've been sifting through tutorials and manuals but cannot seem to find a solution. It seems like the 1010 is a bit out of date? I just feel like it should work. lol.
