os monterey disabled brightness control

since upgrade to os monterey my external monitor (55" hisense 4k oled - r8+) no longer can control brightness... and no keyboard control (using satechi slim x1 keyboard)...

any fixes?

Can't adjust brightness on external monitor - Mac Studio w/Ventura I just bought a Mac Studio and new monitor. I have a Viewsonic monitor connected to a M1 Max Mac Studio (Running Ventura). I am unable to adjust the brightness using the F1/F2 keys (with or without the Fn key pressed) I am unable to control brightness from the control center (greyed out) Under Displays in system settings, there is no option to change brightness. Changing the picture profile did nothing, there is no HDR button to deselect (As suggested by others). It seems that everyone shows a screenshot with some different display controls... I will attach what I see in my setup. Any ideas on what to do?? It's almost as if the brightness is full blast, the whites are blinding!

macOS Monterey disables brightness controls on Apple 24" LED Cinema display On Sunday I upgraded my 2020 mac Mini M1 to Monterey and the display brightness controls stopped working. Both the keyboard special keys and the "display" slider in the macOS menu bar are disabled. All other features of the Cinema Display, the sound control keys and all other special keys still work as they used to under Big Sur. This is a very serious problem, as health & safety regulations mandate that any computer display must be equipped with brightness controls, that mac mini is now not suitable for any production environment. Does anybody know if this is recoverable? (Moreover: is this a known problem? Neither the upgrade procedure nor the docs alerted me to this beforehand. ) Best regards, *MM*

This is in regards to a Mac Mini and how is the Monitor connected to the computer ?

I see in another of your questions the answer - connection over HDMI.

The HDMI connection passes all Brightness to the Controls built into and on the Monitor.

At least - that is how my M1 Mac mini with HDMI to Asus 27" monitor is functioning.
