iphone screen works and slowly deteriorate

When I turn on my phone it works just fine but within 10 secs I start to se both vertical and horizontal lines that gets more and more intense by the seconds. Also the touch function gets worse over time and finally stops working. Normally within a minute. Strange thing is that if I turn the screen off and start over it works just fine again and the procedure starts over. I had the battery replaced a month ago but this started just a few days ago. Really annoying.
