Caller Block Design Counterintuitive
Why, when a caller is blocked, does the 'Unblock this caller' writing blend in, color-wise, and when a caller is not blocked, the 'Block this caller' is in bright red? Shouldn't it be the other way around? The writing should be in red to show that the caller is blocked - when a caller is blocked, this is the time that things should stand out. Block and red and stop and no entry and bad are all associated. If a contact is not blocked, there shouldn't be one line standing out in red. It is already difficult when you get these sentences that change when you toggle between them, not really knowing that it's saying 'click here if you want to block this person because right now they are not blocked and once you do click here, the words are going to change to the opposite meaning'. Then the color is added in the opposite way to make things worse. And what's with all the immediate two-factor authentication without warning and the constant need to log in again, even after telling the site and browser to remember you? With the two-factor stuff, at least give the person a chance to cancel what they were trying to do before sending a confusing map and number to every device. Multiple people may be using the devices and some of the users may be old and easily confused. Also, if an ISP automatically hides your location, these messages are going to talk about people trying to log in from different states when it's simply not true, only causing alarm and panic. Anyway, my mother blocks all of her contacts and wonders why she doesn't get calls. At least get rid of the color if it's too late to retrain your users. Or have two distinct buttons side-by-side, maybe labelled 'blocked' and 'unblocked' and when you click one or the other, it lights up in a particular color. Perhaps the 'blocked' button can become red when selected and the 'unblocked' or 'not blocked' button could become green. Cheers
