My iphone 12 mini does not show any carrier service all of a sudden. I've tried to open the sim card tray to check the sim card but it won't open. I have only had the phone a few weeks, no drops and it has a case. Other ways to open rather than with a paper clip? Don't want to force it.

If you have an Apple Store close by, take it by there. While you have to apply some force to open the tray, it should not be that difficult. Remove or switch the SIM card in your iPhone - Apple Support
