Loss of sound on my iPad

I have suddenly lost all sound on my iPad including hearing key strokes and emails being sent off etc.

iPad Air, iOS 12

Did you check to see if Mute is turned on in Control Center? Did you check Settings>Sounds, ensure the volume is turned up?
