I just signed up for apple tv and even though my password and username are correct, I am not receiving a verification code on my iPhone. How can I fix this so I can watch apple tv on my television?

I’ve already checked to make sure that my iPhone number is listed as my trusted device (It is). I’m still not receiving the code.
