How can I migrate only the apps I want from the old Macbook Air to the new Macbook Pro 14?

I have many apps on the old MacBook Air that I don't want on the new MacBook Pro. Is there a way to selectively migrate only the apps I want without first deleting them from the old MacBook Air?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Unfortunately, you cannot. As a workaround, you could deselect "Apps" to be moved in Migration Assistant, then re-download the specific Apps you would like from the original source.

You could also make a Time Machine backup on your MacBook Air, Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support, then on the new MacBook Pro, inherit the Time Machine backup, If your new Mac inherits your backup history - Apple Support, and restore the specific Apps: Restore items backed up with Time Machine on Mac - Apple Support.
