Iphone 8 plus carrier lock

I got an Iphone 8 plus bought from japan. Im in philippines but can't use a SIM card and always say SIM Not supported. It said it required activation but how? Can't access or use my Iphone if it has SIM

sim not supported my sister in US gave me an IPhone 7, the problem is that when i inserted a 5g sim card we are using here in the Philippines, it says that the the sim card is from a carrier which is not supported by the activation server, and ask me to insert another sim card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by the carrier. My problem is how to do that?
