When my phone is locked, my camera is automatically opening and it's annoying. How do I get this to stop? I have the iphone 13 pro and I just downloaded iOS 15

Hello smd530,

It sounds like you Camera app is opening when your iPhone screen is locked. It's not ideal to have Camera open when you don't intend it to. We'd like to help you resolve this.

As you'll see in the following support article, certain features of your iPhone are accessible from the Lock Screen such as Flashlight and Camera: Access features from the iPhone Lock Screen. These are opened from the Lock Screen by touching and holding on their respective icons at the bottom of the screen when the screen is awake. The Camera can also be opened from the Lock Screen by swiping left on the screen. It's possible you may be inadvertently opening the Camera app using one of those steps.

The only way to prevent the Camera app from being accessible from the Lock Screen is to turn off Camera in Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Allowed Apps. This will disable the camera on your iPhone completely, and when you want to use it you can go back to that setting to turn it back on.

Keep in mind the Camera app can only be opened from the Lock Screen when the screen itself is awake. You may want to turn off "Raise to Wake" in Settings > Display & Brightness if it's currently turned on. This will help prevent your iPhone screen from waking as often.

Take care.
