Genuine Camera Message - iPhone 12 Pro

Hello. Few days ago message about camera not being genuine popped up. I have never had my phone repaired, thought. I haven’t dropped it, drowned it, so it wasn’t damaged in any way either. They say, that it doesn’t affect the camera app, but it is not true, since now I can not use full range of zoom function. It seems, that only one or two lenses are working. I purchased the phone 13 months ago, so no warranty anymore.

In my opinion it has to be software bug, where serial number of my camera doesn’t match some Apple’s database and it subsequently results in the “error message” and limitation of functions.

Does anyone have an idea, if Apple is aware of that fact and could be possibly working on fixing it?

Thank you for any information.

It is far more likely to be a camera hardware failure, and you can reach out to Apple Support directly. Depending on your region, you may be able to reach them here: contact Apple Support

Whether they can offer anything at 13 months is up to them but you may have to pay $500 to get rid of the message. If the cameras work as normal you may want to put up with the message.
