no receiving iphone user text due to switching from a iphone to android

unable to deregister imessages, no longer have iphone and I have maxed out on the amount of times using the deregister tool

How long does it take after deregistering a device from iMessage before being able to receive a message from iPhone to android I changed from iPhone to android and now only people with androids can text me. I deregistered my phone number from iMessage and it still doesn’t allow me to receive messages from iPhones.
