iOS 15.1.1 - not receiving text message notifications

I am not receiving text message notifications on my iPhone 12 Pro. I have been to the Apple store to no avail.

I have reset phone, wiped it and started from scratch and it still continues. When people text me they get a notice that my phone has messages silenced, but when I check my setting, they are not silenced. I have also disabled “Focus” “Do not disturb”/

On a side note, I do get the notifications if I have the phone unlocked and the screen is being viewed.

Ok for all you guys this workaround works for me and many people I have suggested, first off all delete all focus you can create them later , then in notifications settings turn on summary , don’t set it up anything there , back and in every app turn off/on allow notifications just to refresh the settings then in the options select immediate delivery, do this in all your apps , create focus after that don’t use personal focus allowing apps just allowing people note: don’t changing adding more things in summary leave it like that after turn it on

I might have been experiencing a different issue. But I was able to narrow it down to TWO contacts that I wasn't receiving notifications for and once I looked further at their contact info somehow "Hide Alerts" got turned on for them. I have no idea how this happened or if I even did it. I hope this helps someone out there. :)

Wait a sec - @Ozzie1910 posted something about "focus". The notifications not being announced did not start happening until I used the focus setting for the first time. It's no longer on and I only ised it once - but I think that's when these issues started happening. Just a thought!

Thats right , I have suggested this workaround to many apple and the notifications start working right after they delete focus , deleting Focus and set to ON the schedule summary then select the immediate delivery works on my iPhone since iOS 15 then I create my focus thing again and everything works normally

Is there anyone who knows anything about a possible resolution to this? Is Apple trying to solve it?? It seems like this has been a problem for a very long time now. At least I get notifications on my watch...But when the phone screen is locked, the only thing that comes through is a call. Very frustrating!

I just wanted to let you all know that after some trouble shooting I got notifications working again on the phone but you’re not going to like it.

Notifications work properly when all your other Apple devices sharing those same notifications are switched off. I turned off my watch and MacBook. Then it worked fine.

Not a fix 🤯

It does appear that if you have too many Apple devices notifications become erratic so maybe I’ll get rid of a few Apple devices to get my phone and Apple Watch text notifications working properly ie Mac book , iMac , iPod and two iPads…..it’s very frustrating to keep having this issue and Apple doing nothing about this….bummer…

I had this issue and found out that in each individual text tone setting, I had turned on “emergency bypass “. When I turned this off, I was able to get notifications again.

contact-edit-text tone-emergency bypass “this is at the top of this page”

make sure this is turned off.
