iOS 15.1.1 - not receiving text message notifications

I am not receiving text message notifications on my iPhone 12 Pro. I have been to the Apple store to no avail.

I have reset phone, wiped it and started from scratch and it still continues. When people text me they get a notice that my phone has messages silenced, but when I check my setting, they are not silenced. I have also disabled “Focus” “Do not disturb”/

On a side note, I do get the notifications if I have the phone unlocked and the screen is being viewed.

I might have been experiencing a different issue. But I was able to narrow it down to TWO contacts that I wasn't receiving notifications for and once I looked further at their contact info somehow "Hide Alerts" got turned on for them. I have no idea how this happened or if I even did it. I hope this helps someone out there. :)

Mine do not have hide alerts turned on - but that has happened to me in the past!

Same issue once they started Focus. No badges, no alerts, nada. All was fine before. I probably made it worse trying to troubleshoot it by turning off and on this setting and that.

I’m having the same issues, but I’m not receiving my iMessage notifications like it pops ups on the app but like to on my actual screen
