I have a friend who suffers from Alzheimer disease. She never remembers the code to open her iPad. When it is opened, it'ok: she can use it: old habits comme back and "take control". Is there a way to have the iPad open without any code, and to erase permanently the actual code?
Yes, you can disable the Passcode - but in so doing will also disable some other key functions.
Settings > TouchID|FaceID & Passcode > Turn Passcode Off

Removing the iPad Passcode has implications for all security functions - including deletion of any payment methods registered for ApplePay - and your Keychain (that includes your saved passwords).
Can you indicate which key functions?
