Airpods Pro DO NOT disconnect when removed from the ears.

When I remove my Airpods from my ears, they stay connected. I use them in the office and when I am not on the phone, I remove from my ears. When I walk around the office, I usually take them out and sometimes place them in my pocket, outside of the case. But they do not disconnect. When I get a call and answer the phone, the Airpods in my pocket are receiving the call. I have removed them and then re-connected them to my phone 10x already and still have the same issue. I have turned the ear detection on and off so many times I've lost count.
