Get flashing ?

Mac Pro will only startup up correctly from restart it shows a flashing ? Folder where booting after proper shutdown. Have to use an external boot disk to get to startup. All volume s show no errors. In recovery mode cannot see startup disk, but it does show up if I use disk utility after starting up using restart.

Any suggestions
