second screen not working MacBook pro M1

Hi I have just purchased a new Agricultural, Pastoral and Show Society of Lockhart Incorporated

top. My previous MacBook Pro I could add 2 extra screens this one it would appear only one external monitor. My problem is that the monitor is reluctant to start unless I unplug and replug the power and adapters in. Any suggestions.

Regards

Bill

Do you know if it is a Thunderbolt hub or a standard USB3.0 hub?

Again, due to the fact that the M1 is new technology, not everything will work like it used to. Most people may need to buy a new hub or upgrade cables...

For example plug your HDMI from the Mac straight to the monitor and it should work. The same with the USB-C to DisplayPort cable connection straight from the Mac to the monitor...

Hi Thanks for the reply

It is a Philips 20inch monitor. Works well with the old MacBook Pro. and this one if it will start and Samsung small monitor.

I have the non apple port thingy which has a HDMI, 2 USB ports TCIP port and a charging port and a card reader port not sure of the brand. Do I need a usb to HDMI connection?

I can swap back the old MacBook and it works fine

Thanks

Bill
