Iphone earpiece?

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 6Splus to iPhone 12 and I noticed that sound from when I was listening to a podcast was coming from the earpice at the top of the front of the phone that is used when you make calls in addition to the two speakers that are next to the power adapter and was wondering if that’s normal since I would just hear sound from the speaker at the bottom of the 6s plus and didn’t know about the difference with the newer iphone
