If the computer has a VGA port (many have), this may be the easiest way. If necessary, an adapter can be used. More or less any VGA monitor should work (even some television sets have a VGA connector).

If you have a Power Mac G4 with a DVI port, a DVI to HDMI converter cable can be found cheaply on sites like amazon. Otherwise, you may have to invest in a slightly more expensive active conversion cable.
