Data usage

This past month my data usage has been sky high. I didn’t change anything on my phone from the previous months. I am always on wifi at work and at home. My data reset today and when I checked the usage it said I used 1.09 GB. How is that possible?

iPhone 8, iOS 15

What do you mean your "data reset today"?

Do you mean your service plan's period ended and started a new one?

Or are you saying you went into Settings->Cellular, scrolled all the way to the bottom and tapped on Reset Statistics there?

If not, the data displayed in Settings->Cellular will display the usage since the last time you manually reset it. If you've never reset them then its just tracking data usage since you first activated the iPhone, it does not get reset automatically. You need to do so manually to track your usage.
