I 'muted' a WhatsApp message this morning when it appeared on my iPhone 11 lock screen but since then, I'm not receiving any message (iMessage or WhatsApp) notifications on my lock screen, despite turning all required fields on in Settings + Notifications.

Let's check to see if Do Not Disturb or a different Focus is currently activated. This would explain the behavior you're seeing.
