Notifications on Lock Screen

I just got the iPhone 13 and when I get an iMessage alert when my phone is locked, I have to click the text message and then click “open”. The message doesn’t immediately open, rather it slides a bit to the right and the “open” button appears to the left. I used to be able to just click the message and it open rather than two steps. How do I fix this?
