Overexposure in pictures?

Hello! I recently switched to iPhone (I have 13 pro max) and everytime I take a picture, the bright parts of the picture get really overexposed to the point they just look white. Is there any way to solve this? My iPad Air always gives pictures that are softer on colors but I don’t understand why the overexposure thing happens on the iPhone. Like even the videos are fine, it’s just the pictures. Also, it only appears to be like that in the gallery. If I send it to someone and view through my iPad, the picture looks perfectly fine. Same thing if I take a screenshot of that picture. Will appreciate any sort of help, thank you!
