iPhone XR won't play music through USB after downloading iOS 15?

I just recently downloaded the latest update for my iPhone XR and now my phone doesn't play music in the car. I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze that does not have CarPlay so that isn't an option. I also don't have the ability to connect to bluetooth as I don't have that in my car either. It's slightly older. The only way I'm able to listen to music off my phone is by using a USB charging cable that used to just automatically connect when I plugged my phone in. I've also already tried resetting the bluetooth on my phone, as in turning it on and off few times, and that didn't work either. I hate listening to the radio but I've exhausted all my options I don't know what else to do. My car charges my phone at the same time so I know my USB is not the problem because it still charges my phone it just no longer lets me play music, I'm so sad - help!!!

Hi strawberryglitter,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having issues connecting your iPhone to your vehicle using USB.

You've tried some great troubleshooting steps already. Make sure you have tried all steps in the 'Connect using USB playback' section of How to connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your car. There may be a firmware update for your Chevy Cruze that corresponds with this iOS update.

Take care.
